World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.
For example an item with the upgrade template ending in % will gain 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost rises with item's level.

Components
Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons and trinkets to provide a stat bonus or extra impact while they're being used. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades also have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before a component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade can have a prefix or suffix, modifying the name of the equipment with which it is used (for examplefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of the equipment with less Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.
A boost upgrade can change the attack or defence characteristics of the weapon or armor. These upgrades can be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop or getting them from enemies while upgrading other equipment.
The player can get up to five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-level version of the item will be available at the time of the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their equipment even in the event that they don't know what can be improved upon a reset.
If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be costly and there is a high chance that the item could be obsolete or even break if it fails; a failure to upgrade can cause the destruction of the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also offer a bonus if they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, including any existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways, and we suggest getting them to level 15 as soon as possible.
It is commonplace to see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes faster.
Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.
Each Glyph has a certain range of values it can improve a stat by, and the value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with another Glyph of the same rank or a higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the Glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be put on your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that can boost a particular set of stat nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.
Using Glyphs Glyph will boost all nodes connected to it, and you should aim to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. For example an Druid should try to position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, however, you may also want to be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes as well.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the stats of specific items by inserting upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items may be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for upgrading an item. Once enough points are earned you'll be able to claim your upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.
When an individual player upgrades a piece of equipment it will be replaced by the new item. The same armor can be transformed into an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This could be a disadvantage, as the item can be more expensive even if you don't need it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll item upgrades. The item will be replaced by a brand new one that has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This is useful for certain items, however it shouldn't be performed frequently, since it could waste many resources.
Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. item upgrading is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or is able to swim like dolphins). It can be upgraded multiple times, each time increasing the maximum roll by 10 points. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP, as the best version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.
Requirements
The item upgrader allows players to raise the level of their equippable equipment (armor, weapons trinkets, and weapons) beyond ilvl385 by handing over the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces boost the defense of the base set, while upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as the required strength and dexterity.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object, it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original condition, which requires the player to purchase more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item is not upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned like chances to be crit, attack damage, or additional effects (such as increased heal over time, or the speed of reloading). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded gains a crit chance increase it will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its value. For example an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items have lower costs per upgrade.
Premium items might have different upgrade requirements from regular gear. For instance they might require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Players will still have to carry every piece of equipment they want to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of the ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the costs mentioned above.
